I had a lovely day off work and of course it ended up with some light dog biscuit making.
I hadn’t used carrot in baking before and thought it would be nice as Hunter and Maple do love a good carrot!
2 medium eggs whisked
1/2 cup of organic coconut flour
1 cup of organic wholemeal flour
3/4 cup of washed, pealed and grated carrots
1 teaspoon of heated organic coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon of organic honey
Pre heat the over to 170°c / 338°f or gas mark 3.
Mix together all measured ingredients into a large bowl and stir till combined.
Once combined, start to press down and together with your hands in the bowl to form a dough ball.
Divided dough into two and place one onto a flour sprinkled surface and roll out to about 5mm thick. Using your cutter cut out pieces and place onto your grease proof papered trays. (If the dough its too sticky add a little more wholewheat flour)
Take care and place trays into the oven. Time 8-9 minutes and always keep an eye on them. They will be lighter in colour once cooked.
Once you have carefully taken the cooked biscuits out leave to cool for 20-25 minutes and they will be ready to give to your furry friends.
